What will be your last memory of breath?
As global warming increases in the Anthropocene, forest fires rage, and unforeseen pandemics, sickness, and violence infect the world, how will our ability to breathe change? My project is a speculative video depicting changes to how we breathe today as it relates to global climate change.
Alan Amaya is a designer and emerging futurist based in Los Angeles, California. He studies and works in the field of Media Design and combines filmmaking, interaction and speculative design. Alan is this year recipient of the Media Design Practices at Art Center in Pasadena, California and NAHR fellowship.

AIR CONDITION
AIR CONDITION plays with the double meaning: AC system and the air pollution. It traces the disappearance of clouds, creating a photographic cloud diary and analysing it with colour studies. In addition, AIR CONDITION compares the clean air in Sottochiesa with the polluted air in Paris.
Eva-Maria Lopez is working on the themes of nature, ecology and their historical contexts. In her projects she deals photographically with the relationship between object and environment. Her sensitivity to the destruction of natural habitats and resources is highly visible.

AIR CONDITION gioca con il doppio significato: Il sistema AC e l'inquinamento atmosferico. Traccia la scomparsa delle nuvole, creando un diario fotografico delle nuvole e analizzandolo con studi sul colore. Inoltre, AIR CONDITION confronta l'aria pulita di Sottochiesa con l'aria inquinata di Parigi.

The project studies the interplay between wind, an ephemeral and animate aspect of the sensuous landscape, and fabric, a relationship that illuminates the invisible currents of air. Textiles will be woven/collaged using found materials, hung on a crafted frame, and free to dance in the hands of the wind.
Emma O’Mara is an architectural designer and artist living in San Francisco, California. She is interested in urban/landscape design and its relationship to ecology, dance and material supply chains. Emma is this year’s recipient of the Helms Design District - Culver City Arts / NAHR fellowship.

While at NAHR, I will conduct research for No Language, my debut poetry manuscript which advances a vernacular and localised ecopoetics. I will present a selection of poems written in Sottochiesa which will both enlarge the manuscript’s thesis and speak to Val Taleggio’s bioregional specificity.
Lou Garcia-Dolnik is a poet and lyric essayist living and working on sovereign Gadigal Country. Their practice explores the entanglement of kinship, culture and language with ecology. Lou is the recipient of the Australian Poetry and NAHR 2023 fellowship, the NAHR/AP award.

The final work will be an open and multimedia archive about air.
Lucrezia Costa (b.1996) is an Italian visual artist working in Milan. She attended LABA in Brescia and obtained her bachelor's degree in photography. Costa then moved on to her master in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at NABA, Milan, where Lucrezia deepened her knowledge in the visual arts.

L'aria che ci respira
Il mio progetto è diviso in due sezioni: la prima consiste nella creazione di manufatti che saranno suonati dal vento e, la seconda parte, è una performance collaborativa in cui i corpi si muovono al suono dei manufatti, creando un movimento d'aria che disegna forme astratte sulla carta. Il lavoro finale sara’ un archivio multimediale all’aperto, riguardo l’aria.
Lucrezia Costa (nata nel 1996) è un'artista visiva italiana che lavora a Milano. Ha frequentato la LABA di Brescia dove ha conseguito la laurea triennale in fotografia. In seguito ha conseguito un master in Arti Visive e Studi Curatoriali presso la NABA di Milano, dove ha approfondito le sue conoscenze nel campo delle arti visive.

Using field recordings and eco-film processing, the film will speak to air as a fragile force between solids, and explore the affective relationship between nature, fermentation, and emotion.
Ali Vanderkruyk is a filmmaker living and working between Los Angeles and Toronto. Her practice involves theories of haptics, relational ecology, gendered dynamics and critical historiography in national archives. She is currently pursuing an MFA at California Institute of the Arts.
