NAHR CA Spring -[2 weeks] in April 2026, starting on a Sunday and concluding on a Saturday. FUNDED ACCOMMODATION (see Accommodations for all details)

NAHR June - 3-30 June [4 weeks]:
The number of multidisciplinary resident admitted is 5-7, including 1 student currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program (23 year old minimum). FUNDED ACCOMMODATION (see Accommodations for all details) and Workshop

ALTERNATIVE Residency: July - August - September [2-6 weeks]:
Applications to this residency are rolling and accepted until spaces are available, under payment of a fee. NAHR preferred beginning dates: Tuesday June 30th, July 7th, 14th, 21nd, 28th or August 4th or 11th. Please indicate which weeks you are interested in (starting on a Tuesday, ending on a Monday). A 2 week residency is the minimum and a 6 weeks residency is the maximum. Longer stays are encouraged and have priority.

NAHR CA Fall - [2 weeks] in October 2026, starting on a Sunday and concluding on a Saturday. FUNDED ACCOMMODATION (see Accommodations for all details) - make sure to read all details, including transportation BEFORE applying!

The application form contains questions regarding:

1. Select form based on the residency you like to apply to, if you like ot apply to multiple, please submit multiple forms, indicating that you have done so on cover page.
 
2. Contact and biographical information, including web page links (100 words)

3. Current CV ( max. 3 pages) outlining relevant experience

4. Three References name and contact information

5. Portfolio of selected relevant projects published, performed, exhibited, or otherwise publicly presented during the last five years. (max 10 pages)

6. Letter of personal motivation (300 words)

7. Project Proposal: A one short page (approximately 300 words) description of the project that you will pursue during your stay at NAHR. The proposal must clearly address, in separate paragraphs, all these 4 points:

1. Project Concept – What is the central idea or question driving your project within NAHR's environmental approach to nature and culture?
2. Residency Context – How does this project relate to this year’s NAHR theme and preferred Domain, the context and location of the residency?  
3. Methodology / Process – What materials, media, and/or processes will you use?
4. Goals / Expected Outcomes – What do you hope to develop, or produce during your time here? Describe your outcome in relation to the research topic: an artifact (painting, sculpture, installation), an image, a research paper, a food recipe, a structure, a process, a thematic path.

Please be concise and specific. We welcome work-in-progress thinking. 

Priority of selection will be given to proposals that demonstrate direct engagement with the topic, the surrounding nature and human habitat, through both objectives and methods, and to those that reveal the ability to leave a mark on the Taleggio Valley's or Santa Ynez territory.  The candidate will be held accountable for the delivery of the project.

No NAHR funding are available at this time. Upon request, NAHR is pleased to provide individuals with letter of support for independent funding purposes.

If external funding is available to applicant please indicate it at the end of the project proposal page.

NAHR date di inizio suggerite: 30 Giugno, 7, 14, 21 o 28 Luglio, 4 o 11 Agosto. Si prega di indicare in quali settimane si è interessati (arrivo martedì, partenza lunedi’). La residenza deve avere una durata minima di 2 settimane, e massima di 6.

NAHR CA Primavera e Autunno - [2 settimane] in Aprile o in Ottobre 2026, inizia di domenica e si conclude di sabato. Alloggio gratuito. (per dettagli vedi link Accommodations)

1. Quale residenza? Per quale delle due residenze vuoi essere preso in considerazione? NAHR giugno, residenza alternativa IT o California? Se la RESidenza ALT, si prega di proporre la durata del soggiorno specificando le date.

3. Curriculum Vitae attuale (massimo 3 pagine) che illustri esperienze pertinenti

4. Nome di tre referenze e informazioni di contatto

5. Portfolio di progetti pertinenti selezionati pubblicati, eseguiti, esibiti o altrimenti presentati al pubblico negli ultimi cinque anni. (max 10 pagine)

6. Lettera di motivazione personale (300 parole)

7. Proposta di progetto: una descrizione di una pagina (300 parole) del progetto che il richiedente vorrebbe intraprendere durante la sua permanenza a NAHR.
La proposta deve descrivere chiaramente, in paragrafi separati, tutti questi 4 punti:

1. Concetto del progetto: qual è l'idea centrale o la domanda che guida il tuo progetto nell'ambito dell'approccio ambientale del NAHR alla natura e alla cultura?
2. Contesto della residenza: in che modo questo progetto si relaziona al tema del NAHR di quest'anno e al dominio preferito, al contesto e alla sede della residenza?
3. Metodologia / Processo: quali materiali, media e/o processi utilizzerai?
4. Obiettivi / Risultati attesi: cosa speri di sviluppare o produrre durante il tuo periodo qui? Descrivi il tuo risultato in relazione all'argomento di ricerca: un artefatto (dipinto, scultura, installazione), un'immagine, un articolo di ricerca, una ricetta alimentare, una struttura, un processo, un percorso tematico.

Si prega di essere concisi e specifici.

Verrà data priorità alla selezione delle proposte che dimostrano un impegno diretto con il tema, la natura e l'habitat umano circostante, attraverso una descrizione chiara di obiettivi e metodi, e a quelli che rivelano la capacità di lasciare un segno nel territorio della Valle Taleggio.
Nessun finanziamento NAHR è disponibile in questo momento. Su richiesta, NAHR è lieta di fornire alle persone una lettera di supporto per scopi di finanziamento indipendenti.

Se finanziamenti esterni sono disponibili dal richiedente, si prega di indicarlo alla fine della pagina della proposta di progetto.
